Fresh and exciting jazz/ soul vocalist Wallace Gollan has made a name for herself both in New Zealand and Australia.

Wallace’s love of standards is obvious and she performs them with a sincere, rich tone well beyond her mere 21 years. Recently though she has been branching out and these days is equally inspired by soul, hip-hop and modern jazz artists. Erykah Badu, Gretchen Parlato, Little Dragon, Marvin Gaye, Kurt Elling, Donny Hathaway and Prince, to name but a few, have had a profound affect on Wallace and her own writing.

Some of Wallace’s most notable achievements to date are the numerous awards she has won at New Zealand’s prestigious National Youth Jazz Competition held annually in Tauranga. She won ‘Most Outstanding Musician’ and ‘Most Outstanding Vocalist’ (Judged by Tom Warrington, Larry Koonse and Joe La Barbera) her band also took out ‘Best Combo’.

In her final year of high school Wallace attended The Jazz Workshop Sydney a received a scholarship to return again, free of charge, the following year. The second time around she took out the top scholarship and the chance to record with John Morrison, Brendan Clarke and Dave Smith. Wallace also won the ‘Best Vocalist’ award at the Queenstown International Jazz Festival and has also played at numerous festivals around New Zealand with Rodger Fox and other top Kiwi Musicians.

Wallace has an extensive repertoire which includes jazz standards, motown hits and music of today. She also is happy to learn specific material for what ever occasion you have planned.
