With musical albums to its credit, incredible and entertaining JayNii African music and dance performing group from Accra, Ghana was founded in 1997 by Artistic Director / versatile Musician Emmanuel Quartey and Naa Borkor Quartey, a distinguished choreographer, dancer, instrumentalist, dance teacher and consultant of International reputation.

Using simple African instruments, JayNii entertains it’s audience with irresistible rhythms and incredible dances moves that brings out the wow factor and lasting memories. The troupe brings the traditional sounds, songs and spirit of Africa to events worldwide in a spectacular and unforgettable performances like never before. Featuring traditional rhythms, drumming, chants and singing accompanied by energetic routine dances fill audiences with joy, energy and get the whole atmosphere electrified in the fun and celebrating mood. 

Our rhythms are accessible dance grooves ideal for all to dance with. Audience participation in our drumming, singing and dance has always been fun. Having appeared on most of the national televisions, JayNii runs workshops and performed both locally alongside great artistes from the African continent like Salif Keita, Rita Marley, Fumi Kuti and internationally in the U.K, Sweden, France, and have won awards. 

We offer all forms of African performances (Traditional / Folk, Contemporary, Afro fusion, African Jazz, Acrobatics etc).

This is a musical type performed by the Ga people of Ghana’s coastal belt. It is a very entertaining jovial Ga drama musical type used to portray and educate the populace on all issues of life from colonial era to current issues. For example, choosing a life partner / Love and Marriage, the over-indulgent behaviour of the colonial masters during the slave era in Africa, doctor to patient relation (HIV/AIDS), Environment, Awareness creation, unity and development, social issues etc. This provides all the fun for audience who are not only entertained and laugh their chest out but become more imparted positively . It is very popular among the youth of Ga communities and is performed during such occasions as festivals, corporate events, parties, weddings, outdooring, enstoolment of chiefs, durbars, funerals and for all entertainments. 

JayNii Troupe performs phenomenally and entertain its audience leaving them with lasting memories using any number of members depending on the Stage or the acts being requested.

• Jaynii performed at the British Council in Accra for Tecky Kids International school (British Institution),

• On national televisions like GTV and TV3 which covered the group with American Gospel Superstar, Kirk Franklin of "storm" fame at the International Conference Centre, Accra.

• The Homowo festivals organized by Vibe Fm Radio.

• The group made the opening ceremony for the West African conference (WACIPAC) led by Keiku Uchiumi, a Japanese Information & Communication Expert in Ghana.

• Jaynii has trained people who now perform professionally at national and international events.

• Till date, the group still run lessons/workshops for schools, local and international students.

Technical Rider

* Sound system - Client will provide standard sound system for the performances. Ten microphones, one cordless inclusive. Two stages monitors facing Artistes.

* A qualified sound technician, stage technician and light technician.

* Lighting and stage - Strobe light, gel lighting - red, green, blue and amber

* Clear exit lanes on stage.

* Though performance can be perfectly adjusted to any stage, the bigger the dimension, the better.

* Sound check - A sound check will be required on the day of performance after stage is set and all everything is in order.
