No. Entertain Oz is a booking platform, not an agency, employer, or labour hire firm. We don't represent either party — we facilitate the connection and, depending on the service tier, help process payment. The contract for the performance is always directly between the client and the artist.

Artists choose one of three tiers:

• Lite (10%) — lowest fee; the artist manages their own balance collection and contract terms.
• Standard (15%) — Entertain Oz manages the full payment and provides a tailored contract.
• Comprehensive (20%) — full service plus featured placement and extra coordination.

No. Entertain Oz does not charge a card surcharge to clients, in line with current Australian law. The cost of accepting card payments is absorbed by the artist or by Entertain Oz, depending on the tier.

• Lite — the amount paid to Entertain Oz to lock in the booking is non-refundable. Any cancellation terms on the remaining balance are set by the artist directly, in their invoice.
• Standard / Comprehensive — cancelling 42+ days before the event forfeits 50% of the fee; cancelling within 42 days makes the full fee payable. If you've paid more than what's owed under this rule, you'll be refunded the difference; if you've paid less, Entertain Oz will invoice you for the shortfall.

It depends on who's booking and who you're booking:

• Booking as a private individual for a personal event (wedding, birthday, etc.) — generally, no.
• Booking as a business or organisation (including councils, schools, and clubs) engaging an individual or sole trader artist — you may need to pay superannuation directly into their fund, on top of their fee.
• If the artist operates as a company, partnership, or trust — no super applies, regardless of who's booking.
• If you're booking a band or group act led by a sole trader — the group leader is responsible for their own members' super, not you.

Yes — you can update your tier selection on your profile at any time. The new tier applies to bookings made after the change; existing confirmed bookings keep the terms they were made under.

• Lite — Entertain Oz pays your share of the amount collected to lock in the booking; you collect the remaining balance directly from the client, according to your own invoice.
• Standard / Comprehensive — Entertain Oz collects the full fee and disburses your share, net of the service fee, in accordance with the payment terms and conditions of your booking.

Only if you're on the Standard or Comprehensive tier, and you're an individual or sole trader. On the Lite tier, you handle your balance and any super arrangements directly with your client — nothing to enter with us.

Superannuation doesn't apply to payments made to a registered business structure. Just confirm your business structure on your profile — no fund details needed.

Yes. If you take a booking under your own ABN and organise other performers to help fulfil it, you are responsible for collecting and paying their superannuation yourself — this isn't something Entertain Oz manages, whether or not you're a sole trader.

More than you might think — any act where one person takes the booking and brings others along to help deliver it. Examples include:

• Music: duos, trios, and bands of any genre; string quartets and chamber ensembles; brass, pipe, and marching bands; mariachi and cultural music groups; DJ-plus-live-musician combos.
• Dance: dance troupes of any style; cultural or ceremonial performance groups; cheerleading or acrobatic teams; circus and variety acts.
• Other: choirs and vocal groups; comedy or improv troupes; puppeteers with assistants; fire twirling or roaming entertainment teams; historical re-enactment groups; larger kids' party packages with extra face painters or balloon artists; stunt teams.

The test is simply: do you take the booking and organise others to help deliver it?

Yes. Since you're dealing with your client directly for the balance, you're also responsible for providing your own super fund details to them directly, where it applies — the same way you handle your other payment terms.

You can cancel within 42 days of the event by written notice, refunding any fees already received. If you're cancelling due to illness, a medical certificate may be requested. Either way, you're not entitled to keep the fee if you can't perform.

As the group leader, it's your responsibility to arrange a suitable replacement. This is part of why the super obligation for your team sits with you — you're the one contracting whoever ends up performing.
