More than a show, The Living Gallery is an experience — a work of living art that combines classical ballet, Renaissance-inspired visual artistry, theatrical presentation and contemporary dance.
Inspired by Vivaldi's Four Seasons, the experience begins before the performance itself.
The Living Gallery
As the ballroom doors open, guests are welcomed by three elegant 2-metre antique-gold frames, each revealing a performer styled in white and gold, with visual inspiration drawn from classical ballet and Renaissance art.
For up to 15 minutes, the performers remain inside the frames as living artworks.
They subtly shift, breathe and change position as guests arrive and take their seats, creating an intriguing visual illusion. Guests may find themselves wondering whether they are looking at an extraordinary art installation or something about to come alive.
And then it does.
The Gallery Comes to Life
As the room settles, the lighting changes and a voice-over begins.
The gallery suddenly comes to life.
The performers gracefully step from their frames and begin a ballet-inspired feature performance as the score unfolds through the changing seasons.
The movement begins with the refinement and beauty of traditional classical ballet before progressively transforming into an energetic contemporary fusion.
The performance builds in scale and intensity, incorporating powerful partnering, breathtaking pas de deux moments, dynamic lifts and progressive choreography.
An Extraordinary Event Opener
The Living Gallery is designed to create a powerful progression from curiosity to reveal, refinement to energy and stillness to spectacular movement.
What begins as a sophisticated living art installation develops into a theatrical performance of real scale and impact.
The experience doesn't finish on stage.
In the final movement, the dancers leave the performance area and move amongst the audience, bringing the final season directly into the room and creating an immersive and unforgettable finale.
