Sophistocats stands out from other bands with its rich vocal harmonies and the romantic sounds of the Violin, Flute and Saxophone. Sophistocats will make your guests want to get up and dance by there contagious enthusiasm and love of music. Funky dance music, top 40, pop, jazz standards, rock ‘n’ roll, Latin, disco and ballads are just some of the styles that make Sophistocats the band for all ages.
About the “Cats”
Members of Sophistocats have many years of experience of in the entertainment industry. Sophistocats has played at exclusive venues such as the new Melbourne Exhibition Center, Melbourne Concert Hall, the Odeon at Crown Casino, Nine Darling Street, Quatt Quatta, the Backlot and Lincoln of Toorak (to name a few). They have played in bands such as the “In Melbourne Tonight” band (channel 9), and the Heard, and on recordings receiving airplay on commercial and community radio. They have also performed live to air on television on In Melbourne Tonight and Star Struck. Their extensive live experience includes live performances on radio, 3 RRR, 3 ECB and Knox fm, as well as numerous performances at functions such as weddings, barmitzvahs, twenty firsts, xmas parties and even eightieth birthdays!
Members of Sophistocats are highly skilled, trained professional musicians holding Degrees and Advanced Diplomas in music from Box Hill College of Music (TAFE), Australia’s leading college of modern music.
